At the Kick-off reception held at Mercy Hospital and Medical Center, Thapelo Institute, Inc. board members thanked volunteers and exhibitors for their commitment to make the 3rd Annual health and fitness experience the best ever. NBC 5 News Anchor Art Norman served as emcee and Thapelo Community Awards were presented to Sister Sheila Lynne, President & CEO, Mercy Hospital; the Chicago Defender Newspaper; NBC 5; WVON Radio/1450AM and Dr. Eric Whitaker, Director, Illinois Department of Health. Awards were designed by William Bigham.
